Is a picture worth a 1,000 words?

In the world of search engines optimization, SEO, no it not! 

The modern search engines really can’t read your pictures they can only read your text and code on your website.  Only the code and links of the graphics on the page can be categorize or add to search engines database. 

And while you are working on the code, links and text of your images, be sure to put in some keywords while you are at it. You have to have words, and you need to make sure the search engine understands the topic at hand, and that means paying attention to keywords.

DO not let your pictures speak for themselves… Let the code speak for them.



That being said remember that humans do see the website besides all the search engine spiders.  Good graphics can make your website more attractive and keep people on your site longer.

Remember code is for search engines and graphics are for people.  You need to have both on a website to be successful.
