There is a great article from Search Engine Land which talks about how the Microsoft Bing search engine is generating fake information. It creates data showing where people have come from but it is highly incarcerate or totally wrong.
Because linking between sites is so important for ranking having a mistake between sites can cause all sorts of problem.
This was a known problem back when BING was known as MSN-search. Way back in December 2007, Microsoft admitted to the fake referrer problem but claimed that they were and had fixed it. However, people keep seeing the same problem with BING all these years late.
